Joy Division Doc-Call For Assistance 3 November 06

Hi there I am working on the pre production of what is set to be very
exciting and groundbreaking documentary on which we would love your
input. Let me tell you a bit about the project – The Documentary will
be directed by Grant Gee and written by Jon Savage, all the original
band members are signed up as well as all the key protagonists from
the band’s story including Peter Saville, Tony Wilson, etc. The
documentary is due for worldwide distribution; TV, Video and
theatrical release.

For now we are interested in the following:

1. Your archives – we know how precious these are to you and
understand just how priceless they are – what we would love is a list
of everything you have and what you will allow us to take footage of?
Or if you are able to – Scans of the following:

2. Photos of yourselves and friends out and about between the late
70s and early 80s – going to and at gigs, at parties, messing around
etc….to get a feel for the way people looked at the time… ideally
scans – jpegs at around the 5 meg size…

3. Your knowledge – in particular do you know of any recording –
audio and or video of the band talking.

4. Any Memorabilia from the time – local papers, listings, flyers,
posters, footage, recordings – live or radio…

I appreciate any help or assistance you can offer on what is set to
be a very exciting project.

Thanks very very much,

All the best,

Ed

I have a collection of old NME articles on JD and early NO and also a History in Cuttings, both volumes – all of this scanned, which can be easily sent as annex via e-mail. If interested, drop me a line with the e-address and I’ll gladly send it. Being a Factory fanatic, living in South America, during the 80s, I can provide whatever info on JD’s release south of the border.
